Terms

React IoT operates from Western Australia. These terms are a working draft pending legal review; the ground rules below apply today. Questions: hello@reactiot.com.au. Last updated: 2026-10-16.

1 · Agreement

Using this site, buying hardware from us, or engaging us for design work means you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, your organisation. A signed quote or statement of work takes precedence where it says something different.

2 · This website

Content is provided for information. Product specifications, pricing and availability are indicative and may change; nothing on this site is a binding offer until confirmed in writing or at checkout. Open-source projects we link to are licensed under their own repositories' licences.

3 · Quotes and custom work

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless they say otherwise. Custom design, certification and manufacturing engagements run under a written quote or statement of work that sets scope, milestones, fees and IP. Unless that document says otherwise, you own the design IP we produce for you once it's paid for; we keep our pre-existing tools, libraries and know-how.

4 · Hardware orders

Prices are in Australian dollars. Domestic prices include GST; international prices exclude it, and import duties or taxes at your end are yours. An order is accepted when we confirm it. If we can't fulfil an order, we'll refund it in full.

5 · Delivery

We aim to dispatch within 2 business days of order. Risk passes to you on delivery; tell us promptly if anything arrives damaged.

6 · Returns and warranty

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Dead on arrival units are replaced. Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 14 days for unused goods in original packaging.

Hardware is sold firmware-unlocked so you can flash your own builds. Damage caused by misuse, incorrect wiring or power, or modifications isn't a fault in the goods.

7 · Fit for your purpose

Our gateways and boards are development and integration hardware. They are not certified for safety-critical, medical or life-support use, and you are responsible for compliance of the system you build them into unless we've agreed in writing to certify it.

8 · Payment

Hardware is paid at checkout. Custom work is invoiced as set out in the quote; overdue amounts may accrue reasonable interest, and we may pause work for continued non-payment after notice.

9 · Confidentiality

Each side protects the other's confidential information with reasonable care, uses it only for the work at hand, and discloses it only as required by law — with the usual exceptions for information that is public, independently developed, or already lawfully known.

10 · Liability

Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us for the goods or services concerned. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

11 · Disputes

Before court, we talk: either side raises a dispute in writing and both negotiate in good faith for up to 60 days; if that fails, the dispute goes to mediation under the Australian Disputes Centre guidelines, each side bearing its own costs. These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, and its courts have jurisdiction.

12 · General

We may update these terms; changes apply to orders and engagements made after the update. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest stand. See also our privacy and security pages.
